Dr. Sara Stuefen Installed as ADA 10th District Trustee
On Tuesday, October 22, IDA member Dr. Sara Stuefen was installed as ADA 10th District Trustee during the House of Delegates meeting in New Orleans. As our new district trustee, Dr. Stuefen will represent Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota for the next four years.
When it was time to elect a new trustee, Dr. Stuefen had no doubt that she wanted to run. “Organized dentistry is my passion. There's nothing else that has such great potential to impact the profession. It's an honor to be able to serve in any capacity, let alone as trustee,” she said.
Dr. Stuefen brings enthusiasm and a unique perspective to the ADA Board as she will serve as one of the youngest members of the board. “I do feel pressure (being one of the youngest), but really, I hope that others that want to get involved, but are hesitant because they think they're too young, unqualified, or inexperienced will jump in. If I can do it, anyone else can too," says Dr. Stuefen.
The ADA’s mission is to help dentists succeed and support the advancement of the health of the public. Dr. Stuefen will help to strengthen and advance the impact of the ADA during her time serving on the board and says that ultimately, her motivation lies in the fact that, “A strong ADA means empowered dentists and healthier patients.”
Congratulations, Dr. Stuefen! We know you’ll do great things!
