Award Recipient Spotlight: Dr. Lauren Daufeldt
Dr. Lauren Daufeldt was awarded the New Dentist of the Year award on May 3, during the President's Dinner in Coralville. Dr. Daufeldt is a general dentist practicing at DeWitt Family Dentistry since graduating in 2018 from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry and Dental Clinics. She is a member of the Clinton Dental Study Club, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Iowa Dental Association New Dentist Committee, where she served as co-chair the last two years.
Dr. Daufeldt has worked incredibly hard as co-chair of the IDA New Dentist Committee. Under her leadership, the committee has doubled in size. In addition, she has incorporated an icebreaker activity into the committee meeting agendas, building camaraderie among the committee members and making meetings more productive and interactive. The committee hosted a social in Iowa City during homecoming weekend that had more than 60 dentists and dental students in attendance, one of the larger socials we have had in recent years.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading and spending time outdoors with her husband, whether it be biking, skiing or yard games. Dr. Daufeldt also serves as vice president of the DeWitt Nite Lions Club. At various events throughout the year, the club fund-raises by selling community-renowned pork chop sandwiches. All proceeds are donated back to the community through several organizations.
Congratulations, Dr. Daufeldt!
