IDA Board members, including Drs. Ammon Anderson (Sioux City), Jim Larsen (Davenport), Chris Bogue (Carroll), Sara Stuefen (Vinton), and Carolyn Larsen (Davenport), are in Washington, DC for the seventh annual ADA Dentist and Student Lobby Day. 

They are joined by dental students, Carter Coppinger, Zach Graham, Shannon Havel, Tyler Jenness, Mallory Obenauf, and Morgan Swanger from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, and Iowa natives, Maya Chuppe from Creighton University, and Carter Eischeid from Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

With more than 1,500 dentists and dental students in the nation’s capital, the three-day annual event is the largest federal advocacy event for the dental profession. This year's discussions focus on what dentists are dealing with every day, including non-covered services on federally regulated plans, student loan reform, and strengthening the oral health workforce. 

The IDA group had successful meetings with Senator Grassley (pictured above) and Senator Ernst's staff on Monday, April 8 and met with Representatives Randy Feenstra, Ashley Hinson, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Zach Nunn, and their staff on Tuesday, April 9.
